End of Year Update
Happy December!
This is the first year in a very long time that I’ve only had one book come out. (The Library of Borrowed Hearts on April 30, 2024, for those of you keeping track.) And it looks like next year is shaping up to be the same with Murder Runs in the Family on April 29, 2025.
There are several reasons for this, most of which I won’t go into because of long-winded, boring publishing reasons. Rest assured I am still very much actively writing and have lots of exciting new projects in the works.
When will you see them? I don’t know yet! Will you love them? I certainly hope so!
If you met me in person or participated in one of my book club Zoom chats, you probably heard me talking up the next Lucy Gilmore book, which had been slated for release sometime in the summer. That book has been temporarily back-burned (see also: long-winded, boring publishing reasons), so you won’t see the next Lucy Gilmore book until the spring of 2026.
I also have a follow-up book to Murder Runs in the Family all wrapped up and in my editor’s safe hands. I don’t have an official release date for that book yet, but I’m guessing sometime in the fall of 2026.
So…what does this mean for your immediate reading pleasure? Not much, I’m afraid! All those exciting new projects are still wallowing in the primordial soup, and any release dates for the books I’ve finished are up in the air.
In the meantime, mark your calendars for April, when you get to meet Amber Winslow as she investigates the retirement community shenanigans of her grandmother’s true crime podcast in Murder Runs in the Family. And stay tuned for updates, which I’ll share as soon as I’m able!
