About the Author
Hello and welcome! If you’re visiting this website, it’s because you’re interested in Tamara Berry or Lucy Gilmore.
Good news! They’re both me.
I began my writing career in 2012 as a romance author. Since then, I’ve expanded to include cozy mysteries (as Tamara Berry) and upmarket women’s fiction (as Lucy Gilmore). No matter what you’re here for, my books are funny, uplifting, and come with a guaranteed HEA.
I graduated from Eastern Washington University with an English degree, where I learned about Very Important Literature and also that I vastly prefer to read about love and murder—so much so that I can’t imagine writing anything else. In 2023, I was awarded the first-ever Lilian Jackson Braun Award at the Edgars for my cozy mystery Buried in a Good Book. That was the same year that one of my women’s fiction novels, The Lonely Hearts Book Club, was chosen as the April Barnes & Noble Fiction Pick of the Month. I’ve received several starred reviews from Publisher’s Weekly and Kirkus Reviews, and have appeared in such publications as Mystery Scene, Women’s World, USA Today, NPR, and The Spokesman-Review. To say that I’m still reeling from all the love and support is an understatement.
One of the things I love most about being an author is interacting with readers, whether it’s at an in-person event or a book club Zoom chat. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like me to consider attending your event.
